5 great ways to unwind your hectic day

Living and working in a congested and highly competitive country can be draining. You will have to fight your way through the crowds during peak hours and pushing your way into the subway can be a daunting experience. Here are the 5 ways that i will use to unwind my nerves at the end of the hectic day.

  1. Taking a Bus ride home (if you are not rushing and time is in your hand)

I always find bus ride more comfortable compared to a train ride. Even though train rides are more efficient , most of my train experience is a standing marathon. On average, i would have to stand for a good 45 minutes and it is not fun after a long day of work. Therefore, a bus ride would be a good alternative. If you are taking from one terminal to another, there will always be guarantee a seat of your choice. Choose one beside the window as you will feel the peace as the bus brings you to different part of the country and you may discover some little cafe or interesting streets that you have never come across.

2. Listen to your favorite radio station while doing your ironing or laundry at home

After a long day of work, i would always like to tune into my favorite radio station and listen to random songs that were broadcast. Watching TV is always not my cup of tea as i am someone who love to multi-tasks and optimize the time i have at home. Hence, on most days, i will be doing my ironing or laundry while listening to the radios. Of course, you may achieve the same multi-tasking effect while watching TV but i might be so engrossed with the TV shows that i am very much glued to the sofa and not be doing my essential ironing.

3. Write something.. Just anything!

When i’m utterly stress up, i would usually try to pen down my thoughts. It can be a to-do list or just some random thoughts. We feel stressed up or overwhelm when we feel that we can’t control the situation or we have no idea what to expect. Hence, why not just write down your thoughts on a piece of paper or type it out on a private blog. Things are not always as bad as we have imagined.

4. Eat your favorite comfort food

I always feel that the word “Hangry” is created for me. I am a person who would go out of control when i’m starving. My ex-boss would always avoid meetings right before lunch hour as my productivity will be really poor and my mood would be visibly bad. Hence, to wind down after a long day, i will go to my kitchen and either fry myself a Korean Kimchi Pancake or get myself a hot chocolate/hot coffee. Food does work magic on me.

5. Paint a new piece of art

Last but not least, i’d definitely go to my little art corner and draw something. It can be a easy piece of art that use not more than 20 mins (Nagomi Pastel Art is simple and no age boundary). Just feel the finger rubbing onto the paper and seeing all the
